Nuclear: Beyond Destruction

Image
What comes to your mind when you hear this word - 'Nuclear'? I guess, if you are not related to Nuclear Equipments and Systems, Nuclear is synonymous with Disaster for most of you. I do not blame you or your conditioned imagination, but is it really a true equation, Nuclear = Disaster? Or Nuclear is more than that? In fact, I would say, Nuclear is the epitome of Technological inventions in the Energy sector for everlasting sustainable and clean sources. Brief History: The science of atomic radiation, atomic change, and nuclear fission was developed from 1895 to 1945, much of it in the last six of those years. Over 1939-45, most developments were focused on the atomic bomb. From 1945 attention was given to harnessing this energy in a controlled fashion for naval propulsion and for making electricity. Since 1956 the prime focus has been on the technological evolution of reliable nuclear power plants. Russian nuclear physics predates the Bolshevik Revolution by more...

Fourth Rank!!

In my school days, except the 12th Board and CET results, I was never topper in my class. But nonetheless, I was AMONGST the toppers. On every 1st May, the day when school results are declared in Maharashtra, I used to be very excited. But a result day is a damn stressful day for many. Expectations bring stress. I was never sad about my numbers. After going back home, dad used to ask " कितवा   नंबर   ?" [What is your Rank?], and I used to reply "Fourth!" (As usual). In our schools, from the ages, no one bothers about fourth rank onwards   junta.   Only the first three were felicitated and lauded. My father knew I was not exactly fourth, but he knew it very well that rank doesn't matter anyway. By most of the parents,  Education is always compared with ranks and numbers on certificates. My father never forced me to study and get rank in school. After working as a teacher for more than three and half decades, he knew that numbers fade away, what remains ar...

Latest addition to the butts-on-the-saddle tribe!

It’s been almost four months now, and I’m thoroughly enjoying her company. She’s sleek, sporty, and built just the way I like. We first met on February 14, 2016, and soon after, she became a permanent part of my life. Riding her brings me immense joy. Meet my all-new Mach City [Red]—a seven-speed beauty, crafted with passion and designed for urban roads. More than just a bicycle, she’s my perfect companion on every ride. Bicycles: The Ride Toward a Better Future Today, for the first time, I participated in a bicycle rally. It was an incredible and enriching experience. The rally was organized for a meaningful cause—"Save the Environment." As expected, the event kicked off early in the morning with energetic music and a warm-up session. What stood out was the diversity of participants, ranging from school-going kids to 80+ senior citizens, all united by their love for cycling. During the rally, I also discovered various cycling groups in the city, like "Pune Cycle...

Article 356 = {The President, Governors, Ruling Parties}

 Indian Polity has gone through different remarkable phases post-independence. Tryst with Destiny led to different (and unimaginable!) future than what was envisaged by our forefathers, those who drafted the Constitution, at least when it comes to (mis)use of  Article 356 . While answering to criticism of “State Emergency” provision, Dr. B R Ambedkar replied, ‘This provision under Article 356 is supposed to be a  dead letter . And the president of the time shall take moral responsibility before invoking this provision.’ With only one exception of using Article 356 on Kerala (to dismiss the democratically elected Communist state government in 1959), the provision was literally dead till for the first decade and a half. 1967 was a watershed year for Indian Polity when  nine  state assemblies were occupied by non-Congress parties. And there was a shift in Centre-State relations. So far smooth relation due to  Single Party dominance ...

North India Tour!!

Image
Delhi -Chandigarh-Amritsar –McLeodganj- Dharamshala - Delhi -Mathura-Agra- Delhi Like every other year ends, this time also we planned for the tour. This time we thought to “cover” north India part. I was stationed in Delhi for the brief period. And my other tour mates were from Pune, Jamshedpur, Gurgaon, and Chandigarh. We all were connected through Hangout [Google’s product!] initially and then decided to make a group on Whatsapp [this is a mobile application of messaging and people THiNK that it is next to impossible to remain connected without this app. I am an exception to this mentality and well connected to all my dear ones. I was on Whatsapp for exact 7 days!]. After hours and hours of chat, we all were confused about destinations. But everything was finalized before making the first booking towards the tour. The task of booking Hotels and Vehicles was distributed. We decided to book Zoomcar – Scorpio!  [Zoomcar is a car renting concept. You just need one/two goo...
